Oral Nutritional Supplements (ONS) are the most effective way of improving total energy, protein and micronutrient intakes, when used alongside a regular diet.¹

However, poor compliance leads to greater risk of weight loss. That’s why improving the flavour, mouthfeel and choice of ONS is vital. In fact, being able to provide a variety of different flavours of ONS can help to prevent taste fatigue and colder products also improve palatability.¹

We recently worked with Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) on an open-label acceptability and palatability study. We provided icesupp to a group of children with an average age of 5.6 years old, with or at risk of faltering growth. Nearly all of the children (86%) managed 100% compliance, with the majority of participants rating the taste of icesupp as ‘excellent’.
